Here's what you need to know about transaction costs for annual memberships, currencies and payment methods.

Steady uses different payment providers for selling memberships: Paypal, Apple Pay and GoCardless for direct debit payments and Braintree for credit card payments. This results in transaction costs. Steady passes these costs on to creators. They vary depending on the currency in which a creator offers their memberships.

Watch out for chargebacks

Steady will pass on the costs that arise in the case of chargebacks or incorrect processing to the creators:

  • For payments by direct debit, the cost per chargeback is €3.50.

  • For payments by credit card, the cost per chargeback is €30.

Passing on transaction costs

  • Steady converts transaction costs incurred in euros into the corresponding currency for projects that are paid out in currencies other than euros, using the currency service openexchangerates.org.

  • The transaction costs that the payment providers charge and that we pass on to the creators are subject to change.
