You are offering memberships – with the floating button you carry this message out into the world. This is important because your audience needs to know that they can support you.
When you activate the floating button, it will appear on your website and float above the content near the bottom of the screen. This means that it's almost always visible on your website, allowing you to tell your community in a discreet but effective way that they have the opportunity to support you.
Once clicked, the button will take visitors to your Steady page or the checkout if you have activated it.
By the way: On smaller screens (like smartphones) the button will disappear while scrolling and reappear once the user scrolls back. You can also adjust the distance between the button and the edge of the screen if the button is hiding important content on your website.
Update: This month, December 2019, we will be giving the floating button a new look. The new-look floating button will now be round, sit on the bottom right corner and show your publication's logo – you can change the logo in your settings.
Collecting email addresses (leads)
Instead of redirecting visitors to your Steady page (or checkout), you can also use the floating button to collect email addresses from potential members (leads).
You can then contact these leads at a later date via email. In our experience, email newsletters are particularly effective at promoting memberships.
